Abstract
The article discusses environmental problems, environmental pollution and food safety when using plastic containers and packaging in food production and everyday life. It has been established that disposable plastic containers and packaging materials are used in large quantities in the republic, especially in the food industry. Analysis of information materials concerning the production, use and disposal of polymer synthetic containers and packaging materials proves the serious scale of the threat to the environment and human health. The results of a survey of respondents regarding the consideration of opinions on legislative restrictions on the use of plastic bags and packaging are presented. Forming correct behavior in society regarding the use of plastic containers and packaging requires time, resources and efforts of all stakeholders, including both government agencies and environmental non-governmental organizations
