Generative AI Policy

The development of generative artificial intelligence models has significantly transformed the process of preparing scholarly materials. These technologies can accelerate routine tasks, yet at the same time they pose risks to accuracy, authorship and scientific accountability. This policy aims to ensure transparency and uphold the professional standards of the journal.

Principle of Authorial Primacy

All ideas, interpretations and conclusions presented in a manuscript must originate from the authors themselves. Generative AI is not regarded as a source of scientific knowledge and cannot contribute to the conceptual content of the research. Authors are required to formulate research objectives, analyse data and interpret results personally.

Permissible Forms of Technological Support

The journal allows the use of AI for auxiliary tasks that do not influence the author’s intellectual contribution. Such tasks may include improving the clarity of language, correcting stylistic inconsistencies, preparing technical components of the manuscript and conducting routine checks. It is essential that AI does not alter the scientific meaning of the work or generate new claims that the author cannot verify.

Restrictions and Prohibitions

The use of AI is unacceptable in situations where the technology effectively performs the researcher’s work. Machine-generated explanations, methodological sections, analyses or interpretations, as well as attempts to produce new data that replace real research results, are incompatible with the journal’s requirements. Manuscripts exhibiting such features may be withdrawn from consideration.

Requirement for Disclosure

All authors must state whether AI tools were used during the preparation of the manuscript and specify the nature of such use. Lack of transparency, omission of relevant information or attempts to conceal machine-generated content are regarded as violations of academic ethics.

Editorial Screening Procedures

The editorial office reserves the right to employ AI and other automated analytical tools solely for quality-control purposes, including detecting machine-generated content, verifying textual originality and identifying technical inconsistencies. All expert assessments, peer reviews and editorial decisions are made exclusively by human specialists.

Author Responsibility

Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the data presented, the correctness of scientific claims, the precision of references and the overall compliance of the manuscript with academic standards. Any errors arising from uncritical use of AI are considered the authors’ own errors.

Response to Violations

If breaches of this policy are identified, the journal may take various measures, including halting the review process, returning the manuscript to the authors, declining publication or, in exceptional cases, initiating the retraction of already published work.
