Abstract

The article deals with the storage of grain and seeds. Storage of grain and seeds in granaries is a long process. During storage, the quality of grain and seeds is affected by various factors - humidity, temperature, access of oxygen to the storage, the number of pests of grain stocks, their inherent biological and physiological functions. The presence of pests of grain stocks in the grain mass and seeds causes great harm, as a result, it increases humidity in storage facilities, which contributes to self-heating of wet grain, reduces seed germination, pollutes grain and processed products with dead specimens and excrement of pests. At the same time, their food, fodder, seed qualities are completely lost, the products become dangerous for consumption. Reduces the mass of grain and seeds, worsens food and baking qualities. In addition, pests are carriers of various infections, rodents and birds, which breed in storage facilities, cause significant damage during storage of grain, pollute, spoil buildings, equipment and containers by eating grain stocks. They can also spread plague, cholera, anthrax and other diseases among people and domestic animals
