Abstract

In the South of Kazakhstan, where the main areas of irrigated lands are located, due to the irrational use of water resources and changes in environmental conditions, their meliorative state has significantly worsened, which generally leads to a decrease in soil productivity and deterioration of the socio-economic conditions of the population living here. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the processes of degradation and desertification are intensifying every year, soil fertility is decreasing, there is a decrease in crop yields, and a deterioration in the meliorative state of irrigated lands associated with changes in climatic and economic factors. Extensive use of irrigated soils, the unsatisfactory state of irrigation and collector-drainage networks, and the discrepancy between their technical parameters and design standards have led to a sharp deterioration in the soil-meliorative conditions of irrigated areas in the South of Kazakhstan
