LIVESTOCK IS AN IMPORTANT RESOURCE FOR FOOD SECURITY IN KYRGYZSTAN

Abstract

The Kyrgyz Republic is an agrarian country and has the most favorable conditions for the development of both livestock and crop production. Natural pasture resources of 9.1 million hectares, intended for breeding all types of farm animals, and a wonderful climate provide an excellent opportunity for obtaining food of animal origin.Livestock breeding is an ancient occupation of the Kyrgyz people. Since ancient times, the nomadic Kyrgyz have adapted to roam with their livestock over the longest distances and effectively use pasture lands.What has changed since then? After the change of generations and the development of the country, there have been changes in the field of animal husbandry and food. Once animal husbandry, which was the personal economy of every person, has turned into a huge and important industry both in the food and economic spheres of our country
