Abstract
The article is devoted to the definition of modern methods of waterproofing of hydraulic structures, namely the geomembrane. The relevance of the geomembrane application determines its role in the modern world. The development of human civilization has led to the need to create new high-quality building materials, which, in addition to strength and durability, would also be environmentally friendly and resistant to various, in particular, chemical influences. The use of geomembranes in the construction of BSR to eliminate the shortage of irrigation capacity of the system, the possibility of introducing new irrigated lands into agricultural circulation and building new water intake facilities on the rivers of Kyrgyzstan with feeding the existing earthen irrigation canals. It is also aimed at the safe exploitation of water resources, in their rational use, on improving the safety and reliability of hydraulic structures
