Abstract
Ensuring food security is a priority task not only at the level of one region, country, but also at the international level. Supporting the activities and creating conditions for the effective development of agricultural producers of various organizational and legal forms are especially relevant in Russia in the post-Soviet period. According to the results of a study conducted on the data of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, it was found that in the last 10 years there has been a steady trend of growth in the number of peasant (farm) farms. This was facilitated by the softening of legislation, simplification of the procedure for obtaining land plots, and state programs to support entrepreneurs. In order to further develop this area, a program has been proposed to improve activities, including by making changes at the legislative level
