Abstract
Digitalization is a global trend in the global economy today. Modern agricultural methods involve the introduction of advanced information technologies (IT). The purpose of the article is to study some aspects of increasing the efficiency of Russian agribusiness in the context of general automation and digitalization of the economy. The authors consider internal and external factors influencing the development of the agro-industrial complex, assess the problems of the domestic agro-industrial complex in terms of automation; research methods are clarified. In addition, the article provides examples of IT projects for organizations engaged in agriculture, which made it possible to identify key areas in solving the problem of increasing the efficiency of agro-industrial complex development in modern conditions
