Abstract
The weed vegetation in the fields of intermediate post-harvest green manure crops—white mustard, white sweet clover, spring barley, phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia), and oilseed radish—is mainly represented by perennial weed species, and their number decreases year by year under the influence of these green manures. In autumn, weeds are plowed into the soil together with the green manure crops and serve as green fertilizers. Together with the green manures, they participate in carbon dioxide sequestration, as carbon sequestration by plants plays an important role in mitigating the effects of global climate change, helping to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and accumulate it in soil organic matter. As a result, the humus potential of irrigated arable land is restored, and soil fertility is increased
