Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of geo-economic and geopolitical status of the Kyrgyz Republic in the sphere of water and energy resources in Central Asia as one of the effective strategies and mechanisms of sustainable development of the state. Under conditions when the whole world is on the threshold of energy crisis, Kyrgyzstan, having a relatively small territory and good geological study of water resources, the huge energy potential of the country is used rather poorly. Water and energy resources in Kyrgyzstan are limited by the small size and topography of the country, as well as by complex water sharing agreements with downstream countries. The purpose of the study is to examine the geopolitical status of the Kyrgyz Republic in the sphere of water and energy resources at the current stage of economic development, as well as from the perspective of globalization
