Abstract
The main disadvantages of rotary grain crushers are increased energy consumption and the content of dust fraction in the grinding. One of the main reasons for the shortcomings is the low efficiency of the influence of the working bodies of the crusher on the processed grain. To justify the optimization of crusher parameters, a characteristic is needed that reflects the impact quality. To do this, it is proposed to consider the loss of kinetic energy. The purpose of the work is to evaluate the relationship between the probability of grain destruction and the loss of kinetic energy upon impact. The experimental data of L. A. Glebov are compared with the theoretical values of kinetic energy losses and their good agreement with each other is established. The conclusion is made about the applicability of the concept of energy loss as a characteristic of impact
