Abstract
The article provides data on how horses are infected with brucellosis, how is the course of the disease in horses, what are the clinical signs, what does the diagnosis include and what research methods are needed to isolate the pathogen. Brucellosis of horses does not have a wide independent spread, but it is necessary to take into account the features of epizootology of equine brucellosis. A mobile laboratory operates at the Zhaiyl interdistrict veterinary laboratory, which annually travels to high mountain pastures to conduct tests for brucellosis in mare's milk using express methods. Researchers of the laboratory for the study of brucellosis KRIVM (Kyrgyz Scientific Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine) named after A. Duisheev obtained valuable results when conducting research on the culture of abortion - the fetus of a mare polymerase chain reaction method, in which the causative agent Brucella Abortus was isolated. This confirms the hypothesis about the migration of the causative agent of brucellosis in cattle to horses, causing abortion in mares. The results of equine serum testing for brucellosis from 2016 to 2020 are presented
