WATER POTENTIAL OF THE FERGANA VALLEY AND THE ROLE OF KYRGYZSTAN IN ENSURING WATER SECURITY OF THE VALLEY

Abstract

In this article, the Ferghana Valley is considered as the main object that can help improve the state of food security in three countries: Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The issues of water resources of the Fergana Valley are considered, an analysis of the existing irrigation infrastructure in the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic is provided. In the article, using the method of comparative analysis, it is shown how to increase the efficient use of water resources through utilizing modern irrigation methods. In conclusion, the authors propose to consider the possibility of integrating countries whose interests are intertwined in the Ferghana Valley
