Abstract
In Kyrgyzstan, despite the favorable soil and climatic conditions, the yield and quality of potatoes are at a very low level. The main reason for this is the massive infection of seed potatoes with viral diseases. In this regard, the KNAU laboratory of biotechnology has developed a technology for virus-free seed production in the conditions of Kyrgyzstan. The basis of this technology is the liberation of potato varieties from viral infection by the apical meristem method, the essence of which is to isolate the apical part of the potato seedling, free from viruses, and cultivate it on an artificial nutrient medium in test tubes. Good results were obtained using the Murashige-Skoog culture medium
