Abstract
The Kyrgyz Republic is rich in water resources. They include fresh water from glaciers, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, and groundwater. According to the UN, almost half of the world's population suffers from water shortages. Experts estimate that more than 780 million people around the world do not have access to clean drinking water. And 1.7 billion people need fresh water. Thousands of people die every year due to the lack of clean water and unsanitary conditions in the world. Most of them are children. [project]. The volume of water consumption in the republic is estimated at 10-12 billion cubic meters per year. We observe large losses during transportation in river beds, canals, and irrigation structures and they reach 1.7-2.3 billion cubic meters. The Kyrgyz Republic, due to natural conditions (mainly relief), mainly small rivers, under which more than 800 thousand hectares of irrigated land are suspended, are involved in providing water to irrigated lands and drinking water
